What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice where postures are held for 3-5 minutes or longer.
To practice Yin is to embrace stillness, silence, and surrender. It's about exploring our inner landscape, yielding to the present moment, and accepting what is. Yin yoga helps cultivate these qualities—inviting us to listen, soften, and let go of resistance.
Yin is a functional practice that emphasizes how the pose feels rather than how it looks. Each posture is adapted to meet your body’s unique structure and needs, making it accessible for everyone, regardless of experience or flexibility.
While stillness and meditation based practices can be challenging for our very busy minds at first, there are many benefits to the practice if we stick with it, training our stillness muscles to get stronger over time.
"We don't use the body to get into the pose,
we use the pose to get into the body."
- Bernie Clark
